Now that summer looks, at last, to have made an appearance in Wensleydale, its an appropriate moment to get outside, and enjoy some more events out and about in the Dale.
One such regular occurrence is taking place on the weekend of 27-29th July when the Hardraw Summer Gathering returns to the Green Dragon Inn, Hardraw for its 10th Anniversary year.
Hardraw’s July Gathering is a Folk Festival of sorts, for fans of folk music – or just any music – and beer, to meet up and enjoy both things in the wonderful, old-fashioned surrounds of the Green Dragon Inn (home of Hardraw Force, England’s highest above ground single drop waterfall).
With a whole host of folk acts set to play throughout the weekend, whatever time you call up, you will be in for a treat. Not only that, but unlike so many events which take place these days, there is no cover charge to attend.
While car parking at Hardraw is an honesty box system (money goes to charity) during big weekends – thanks to friendly farmers – you won’t pay anything to get in, which means you can buy a pint, or a half, of fine Yorkshire ale, and enjoy some free entertainment.
Details of the acts due to perform throughout the July Gathering weekend can be found at the Hardraw Summer Gathering website.
