Since a lot of people are asking this question, and ending up a little confused, I thought I would clear this one up:
Are they running/walking the whole way on foot in the Olympic Torch relay?
The short answer is: no!
The Olympic Torch will be stopping at 1,019 localities across the UK, and will come within 1 mile of everybody in Britain, but it will be travelling between each “outing” in a motorised police convoy.
The Olympic Torch is coming to our part of the World (North Yorkshire) on Wednesday 20th June 2012.
