Before the Olympic Torch Relay joins us by heading through Thirsk, Northallerton, Aiskew & Bedale, Aysgarth Falls, and Leyburn, it will start the day of Wednesday 20th June 2012 in Yorkshire’s main city, York, where it shall have taken a rather leisurely tour of the city the evening before, too.

What Time Will The Olympic Torch Relay in York Start?
The Olympic Torch will arrive in York at the following times:
- 17:24 pm – Tuesday 19th June 2012 (at Tadcaster Road, edge of York)
- 07:44 am – Wednesday 20th June 2012 (at York Minster)
Olympic Torch Route Through York – Tuesday 19th June 2012
The route taken on the evening of Tuesday 19th June 2012 will be a long one, starting at the edge of York, on Tadcaster Road, before heading through town, before turning out of the city again and ending at York Racecourse. Starts @ 17:24 pm, by the “S” in the route map below. Note that the “F” marker is the Finish for the Wednesday torch relay leg. The Tuesday leg (highlighted) finishes at York Racecourse (where the special Torch icon is!).

The route taken on the morning of Wednesday 20th June 2012 will be a little shorter. It will head from York Minster – starting at 07:24 am – before taking the following route:
