Before the Olympic Torch makes its way up towards the Dales, through Northallerton, Bedale, Leyburn to Aysgarth Falls and on to Richmond, it will be starting the day of Wednesday 20th June 2012 in Thirsk, North Yorkshire – home of James Herriot.

Olympic Torch Relay Route Through Thirsk
The Olympic Torch Relay will start on the A61, just near the Thirsk Train Station, before heading into town, past Thirsk Racecourse. It will pass through the town centre, and out along Northallerton Road, where it will finish at the edge of Thirsk.
