School House, Middleham, Website – YorkshireDalesHouse.co.uk

In 2010, following a period of living and working in France, we returned to the Yorkshire Dales and undertook a design project for Steve and Judy McCann, who were turning the beautifully restored Old School House at Middleham into a holiday let (which sleeps 12-15).

This huge property had been restored beyond its former glory, and offered a truly excellent opportunity for large groups to enjoy a stay away in the Yorkshire Dales, something we learned first hand by staying there in the luxurious surroundings. The newly launched holiday let, however, needed a website to match the property, which we were only too happy to create.

Installed at the domain name YorkshireDalesHouse.co.uk – a domain bought with the principle in mind that visitors to the Yorkshire Dales (at least first time around) would be unlikely to have heard of “School House Middleham” – we created a working website, with a bespoke feel, and plenty of rotating images of the property itself.

An online booking form – all open source – completed the picture, allowing potential guests to see, at a glance, what dates are available, and to select them and make tentative bookings, which Steve or Judy (or their manager) could then confirm with a deposit, or delete, at the click of a mouse.

The great thing with the site we made for Steve and Judy is that it allows them to login and update the words / prices and anything else as and when they need to – allowing them to constantly update their site with all of the glowing reviews they keep receiving for School House! Also, Steve and Judy’s passion for the property is able to come across fully, as they put their time into the site without requiring us to make every little change on their behalf. The power is in their hands, though if there are ever any problems with the website or hosting plan, we are always here at the end of the phone or email.
