Silicon Dales is a web design and development firm owned and operated by 24 Hour Trading Ltd.

Specifically, Silicon Dales is run by Robin & Linda Scott, who co-founded the project after having received many requests to provide a variety of web services to clients in the Yorkshire Dales, where their office is based.

Robin Scott grew up in Wensleydale, from where he now works, having previously lived in Australia, Edinburgh and France. His family has lived and worked in the area for generations, with his grandfather and father – Malcolm E. Scott and Malcom W. Scott – working variously from Leyburn, Hawes, Richmond, Bedale, Catterick Garrison and Northallerton as local solicitors, in the practice now known as Scotts Wright Solicitors.

Robin first entered the world of e-commerce while a Law student at Newcastle University, a part-time project which soon grew into a fully-fledged business, one which saw him, on the year of his graduation, winning the Newcastle University Enterprise Award 2006. As well as scooping the Overall Prize, Robin landed the prize for Achievement in E-Commerce.

Robin has since been interviewed about the web by Irish radio, received plaudits for his work from The New York Times and while living in Sydney was quoted in LA Weekly for his comments on the first Earth Hour celebrations.

Linda Scott joined 24 Hour Trading as a partner after helping to found Your-Story.org, a market leading free press release website. Linda is now a director and shareholder in 24 Hour Trading Ltd with responsibility for content. Skilled at overseeing the writing and editing of copy for web publication – always with a keen eye on SEO performance – Linda is an experienced and confident editor, who has managed work from senior academics, politicians and novelists.

Linda has a meticulous understanding of the need for simple, yet attractive, design, which always ensures client websites leave the Silicon Dales studio looking their absolute best.
