As we approach the end of January 2014, Silicon Dales are completing a merger with London based marketing company, Evolution London, under which we will be taking all Evolution web design & hosting clients onto Silicon Dales packages.
What this means for existing Silicon Dales clients
Very little, except, with a rapidly increased hosting client-base, Silicon Dales is able to benefit from economies of scale where hosting is concerned and make savings. These savings are being passed onto all our clients. For example, we leased a new top-of-the-range UK-based hosting machine in November and will be acquiring more higher-spec machines as a result of our increased client base.
This will result in:
- Better hosting technology;
- Lower costs;
- More developers & system admin staff (we’re hiring!).
For all hosting, maintenance and management clients of Silicon Dales.
What this means for Evolution London clients
We understand that Evolution London clients were used to a high level of service, and a fair pricing policy. We will be continuing this into the future. Our prices will match those charged by Evolution. Furthermore, because we have increased the number of hosting clients on our machines, technology is improving, as is service, while costs will be held at the level you have been used to paying.
- Better hosting technology;
- Lower relative costs;
- More developers & system admin staff.
For the time being, your hosting, email, and domain settings will remain exactly the same, before we seamlessly transition accounts to upgraded hosting in the Spring – something which we are pleased to say will be an improvement in terms of available RAM, storage, and other technical improvements.
This transition will take place overnight at a period of low activity and in the background, and will see zero downtime for your website and services.
In keeping with our habit of over-stretching analogies to describe technical changes, this process will be a little bit like plugging in another (more sophisticated) telephone into an extension, before unplugging the original phone you had been using.
