The latest version of WordPress shipped this week. If you’re on WP, then updating is recommended as soon as possible.
WordPress 4.0!
WordPress 4.0 is another fairly big overhaul, however, so where we’re managing client updates, we’re rolling changes through carefully to watch for any little snags, like theme and plugin incompatibilities.
One of the great new features added to WordPress for version 4.0 is the ability to embed more stuff, in particular, to embed Tweets, by adding just one line of URL into your post… read on for the simple “how to”!
How to Quickly Embed a Tweet into a WordPress Post
Here’s how to embed a tweet into a WordPress post. It should go without saying, but if you haven’t already, the pre-first step is to upgrade to WordPress 4.0, then, do the following:
- Visit Twitter.com and click on the “time” part of the tweet you’d like to embed (e.g. “14 m ago”) – this will load up the tweet in your browser window.
- Copy the URL into your clipboard
- In your WordPress post, simply paste the full URL of your tweet, and the inner workings of the new WP will do the rest to stylishly embed this tweet!
Simple.
A demonstration
To demonstrate, below is a tweet we made recently about our new partnership with Braintree for payments:
We can install @braintree payment solutions in client websites, too. In fact, we already have. Kiss goodbye to monthly fees for CC payments.
